Celebrating 100 years of HLC Accreditation
On behalf of Wayne State University, thank you for your engagement in our Higher Learning Commission accreditation process.
Sandra Yee and Hilary Ratner, Co-chairs
HLC'17 Steering Committee
The Higher Learning Commission Peer Review Team completed its on-campus review on March 6 and 7. Through a series of targeted meetings with faculty and administrators, reviewers further explored Wayne State University programs and support systems that enable our mission to create and advance knowledge, prepare a diverse student body to thrive, and positively impact local and global communities.
Remarkable turnout at open forums validated the university's engaged campus community and assured that reviewers heard the opinions of faculty, students, and staff.
This ten-year process is not only a requirement of continued accreditation, it also provides an important opportunity for self-evaluation. The Higher Learning Commission review process will continue over the next several months, after which we'll learn the official outcome of our comprehensive evaluation, and also gain valuable insight on how to improve our academic programs, student support systems, and operational infrastructure.
